WWE: 10 Biggest Missed Opportunities In WrestleMania History

9. Daniel Bryan's 18 Second Squash

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I7IB1cG02c I like to imagine that somewhere in the Sun Life Stadium, Vince McMahon sat refreshing Twitter as Daniel Bryan walked down the ramp to a thunderous response, cackling as he awaited the fury of the IWC. Perhaps bottling our disappointment to cheat death for another year. In reality, I can only imagine that the WWE massively underestimated just how over the former American Dragon was. After all, he was the obnoxious, overconfident, condescending little twerp. While Sheamus was tall. WWE logic dictates that the crowd should have reacted to this upset like The Rock just turned up at their door with a 12 pack and asked if they wanted to spend the evening hanging out and playing X-Box. Instead the response entirely derailed what should have been Sheamus' coming out party. Because the 6'4 Irishman was the real victim here. No, seriously. Ever since Daniel Bryan arrived in the WWE his charisma has overcome relentless bad booking. He's been humiliated in NXT, torn apart on commentary, demoted to the tag team division and buried by the authority alongside this disappointment. None of it seems to matter. The audience just love the guy. But Sheamus has always struggled to connect with the audience in the same way, despite his obvious abilities. A long, physical match with a powerful showing by the Irishman would have given him the chance to impress fans on a huge scale. His victory would have meant something. Instead he was resented for being the guy who took away Daniel Bryan's Wrestlemania moment. He was robbed of the chance to have a career defining Wrestlemania match just like the fans were robbed of what would likely have been a classic contest.

I've been writing since I was fourteen and thought it might get girls to like me. It didn't. I should have learned guitar instead.
