WWE: 10 Biggest Royal Rumble Missed Opportunities In History

7. A Giant Actually Wins

BigShow WWE does the same tease every year that a giant will win the Rumble. It is pushed again and again that the likes of Big Show, Kane, Henry or Khali have the advantage. The truth of course is that they don't. The purpose of a giant is always to do the same spot in which everyone gangs up to bundle them over the top rope. It is beyond clichéd after 20 years. I'm not saying Khali should win. But perhaps it is time a giant actually did win the Royal Rumble. It makes logical sense, and also adds credibility back for future Rumbles. The Giant's advantage would become relevant again. WWE have missed the opportunity of never fully telling a giant story in relation to the Rumble Mania season. There was Yokozuna in 1993 and Big John Studd in 1989, but in the modern era the Rumble winner has been mostly of a standard WWE physique. Despite this, some of the most dominant performances have come from the giant men. Kane is a Royal Rumble legend, he has the most eliminations in any Rumble match (11 in 2001) and holds the record for most Rumbles entered at 16. It is about time a big man won. The Big Show or Mark Henry would be prime contenders. You could argue that WWE missed their opportunity with Show in 2011 or 12 when they booked Sheamus and Del Rio. You might also say that Show should have won when eliminated last in 2004 ... Chris Benoit who eliminated the giant didn't really work out for the company needless to say.
