WWE: 10 Biggest Stories This Week

8. Chris Benoit Back In The WWE

benoit Following the Benoit double murder suicide of 2007, Vince McMahon declared that the talented grappler would never be shown on WWE broadcasting ever again. True to his word, most Benoit content and mentions have been obsolete ever since. Rightfully so it could be argued - this was ultimately a cold blooded killer. The problem is that Benoit was involved in so many great matches and part of numerous WWE angles of the 2000 decade. Things such as the Royal Rumble or ladder matches are impossible to edit one star out of. This has led to a change in WWE policy. With the WWE Network coming it has been decided that Benoit will no longer be edited out of WWE content. The airing of full Raw and PPV content from his era would make it almost impossible for WWE to continue the current policy - instead there will be an advisory note before any Benoit broadcast to indicate discretion. Is this the right thing to do? I don't know, but I do think it is the necessary thing to do under the circumstances of the WWE Network. Viewer choice can still be used to watch or not watch Chris Benoit content, so it is really up to the individual. WWE don't really deserve any heat for this change of policy.
