3. Bob Orton Gets Tasered By The Cops

I remember a time when I didn€™t care much about the in €“ ring action, as I was mesmerized by the mic skills of Hot Rod. So when Piper himself narrates a story, you€™re guaranteed that he will make it sound like the greatest, most bizarre story you€™ve ever heard. This story has also become a local legend in Fresno, California, and involves Don Muraco, €œCowboy€ Bob Orton and the Hot Rod himself. According to the story, Piper had allegedly punched someone in a restaurant and by the time the cops arrived, the three men split from the scene. The police chased their car, which broke down on the railway track. They saw a train approaching, which eventually missed the car. As the men then stumbled back to their hotel rooms at the Fresno Holiday Inn, that was when their troubles escalated, as there were a bunch of cops waiting for the three grapplers. As Muraco and Piper tried to explain the situation to the cops, Bob Orton allegedly walked out of his room buck €“ naked, and started yelling at the officers. Long story short, the cops tried to take Orton down with some tranquilizers which had little to no effect! They had to taser him twice, and Piper ended up spending the night in jail!
