10 Most Bizarre WWE Gimmicks

5. The Big Red Machine

There was a time, a long time ago, when Kane had a frightening and bizarre gimmick. Promoted as the emotionally twisted and physically disfigured brother of The Undertaker, Kane first made his WWE debut in 1997. In a memorable scene Kane interrupted the first ever Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels at Bad Blood 1997; ripping the cell door from its hinges and delivering a Tombstone Piledriver to his on screen brother. His debut would set a precedent for how Kane would be promoted by the WWE for the foreseeable future. Known as 'The Big Red Machine' the fully masked Kane was a tormented soul intent on causing destruction to all, but in particular, to The Undertaker. Equipped with a mystical command of fire, Kane would battle with The Undertaker from Inferno matches to Buried Alive matches whilst terrifying fans in the process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6MnmXTV_Ts Who could forget the night on RAW when, without the guidance of Paul Bearer, Kane would interfere in matches throughout the night and obliterate all who stood in his way? Or the time when Kane was forced to unmask by Eric Bischoff causing him to burn Jim Ross alive, deliver a Tombstone Piledriver to Linda McMahon on the RAW stage and electrocute Shane McMahon whilst pinned to the turnbuckle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2wWRPIX2E0 What is certain is that Kane, masked or unmasked, is a gimmick that is as bizarre as it is sadistic.
