At the November 2 Remember show in 1997 Rob Van Dam (representing the World Wrestling Federation) took on Tommy Dreamer (representing Extreme Championship Wrestling) in a Flag Match with the winner getting to raise their flag in victory. RVD and Dreamer battled over the ECW flag and the company itself. The concept itself might not be the best but with wrestling's love of national stereotypes and the intense patriotism there is no reason as to why the humble flag match couldn't make a return. The Real American's (Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro) could easily get themselves in a feud over the American flag with a babyface tag team. It would mix up the tag division and create something interesting where everyone just seems to wrestle each other over and over again in an endless cycle so why not mix it up with a gimmick match. 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan would be jealous.
