WWE: 10 Famous Wrestling Streaks That Had A Botched Ending

3. Edge's Own WrestleMania Undefeated Streak Ends In A Money In The Bank Match

From WrestleMania 16 (2000) through WrestleMania 22, Edge managed to build himself an impressive 5-0 record at the Showcase of Immortals. He missed out on 19 and 20 due to a neck injury, but won two tag team ladder matches, the first Money In The Bank ladder match, and pinned two Hall of Famers in Booker T and Mick Foley. At WrestleMania 23, Edge found himself back out of the World Title picture, and once again in a Money In The Bank ladder match. Early word going into WrestleMania 23 was that Edge was injured again, and that he might written out of the ladder match all together. Instead, he was stretchered out less than halfway into the match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q1XqW3Ta7E Even though he was not pinned or made to submit- and the spot was incredible, nearly on-par with Edge's spear of Hardy at WrestleMania 17- a loss on the main card of WrestleMania counts; Edge was no longer one of the few who could claim to be undefeated at WrestleMania. Why is this such a big deal? One year later- WrestleMania 24- the main event pitted WWE World Champion Edge vs. The Undertaker in a Streak vs. Title Match. How much more compelling would this match have been had it been a Streak vs. Streak World Title Match?
