WWE: 10 Forgotten Superstars That Should Have Won Gold

2. Vader

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU3a2vGdpIs There was never a better killer heel than Vader. He was so over during his time as WCW champion it seemed it would take a miracle to move him from the top of the mountain. It turns out all it took was the arrival of Hulk Hogan and the move away from the hard hitting style Vader enjoyed to convince him to seek pastures greener. He arrived in the WWE in early 1996 and went about picking up where he left off in WCW creating carnage and redefining the super heel model he had perfected in WCW. His early work with Yokozuna, Savio Vega and Razor Ramon was excellent and his top line program with champion Shawn Michaels looked certain to be box office gold as they two had an intense and dramatic clash at Summerslam 1996 to kick off what should have been a long running feud. However, this was not to be. Shawn Michaels struggled to cope with the hard hitting style of Vader and their feud fizzled out before it had a chance to go anywhere with the blame being fixed squarely on the behemoth shoulders of the Colorado monster. Even without the top level program he had envisaged Vader still managed to contribute several stunning clashes with Bret Hart, Steve Austin, Undertaker and Ken Shamrock as well as engage in an entertaining feud with Goldust and get the best out of new monster heel Kane before ultimately growing weary of a supporting role within WWE and leaving to seek further glory in Japan. Vader remains probably the best wrestler never to win the WWE title leaving all of us to wonder just what might have been had be been able to compromise on his working style just a little bit.
