WWE: 10 Gimmicks That Should Have Failed (But Didn't)

10. The Wyatt Family

Who would have ever guessed that in today's modern TV world of crass bikers, meth making teachers and surgically modified reality TV stars; that a three man group from the "deep south" with a cult like leader would ever make it over in today's market? I'll admit it, at first I was on my couch like everyone else going "What is Vince thinking now?" Did creative really think that this shout-out to a past attempt would really strike a chord in the hearts of viewer's worldwide? I thought that it would be over long before it ever began and boy, thankfully, was I wrong. The reason the Wyatt's work is not just that they have a creepy vibe that seems straight out of an old B-rated horror flick. Not to mention that they have one of the best entrances I've personally seen in years. It's because of the impressive in ring athletic talent of the two big men Luke and Rowan, as well as the often times hypnotic presence of one Bray Wyatt. If he's not singing in the most frightening way possible to give anyone the heebie jeebies, then his words tell of a beautifully twisted mind that not only captivates but also makes us think. In turn he makes us wonder about ourselves. Though in ring, Bray is a solid performer, I truly believe that it is his prowess on the mic in front of an audience or shooting a masterful promo, which really helped make this gimmick succeed.
