WWE: 10 Gimmicks That Should Have Failed (But Didn't)

9. Al Snow And His Talking Head

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKDEaCey-VE Okay so the Attitude Era wasn't exactly known for its safe and sane wrestlers, but a guy talking to a mannequin head? There isn't any way that could have actually made it over with the audience right? Wrong. In fact, Al Snow would go from spending his time as a jobber to soon wearing gold around his waist. And not just one title, instead he would go on to hold the Hardcore Title, the European Title and the Tag Team Championship belts with Mankind. Signs appeared in the stands, fans went out and bought the t-shirts, and we're pretty sure that had twitter been around at the time, #TalkingHead would have blown up on the Internet. Even today with many of the audience being new fans, I'm pretty sure that if Al Snow stepped out onto that ramp with that mannequin head and the words "Help me" written backwards on his forehead, you would hear a crazy pop from the stands. Because as insane as the gimmick was, it was just bizarre enough to leave a lasting impression.
