We all know he probably never would have made it to the big title. That didn't stop Matt Borne from creating one of the most lasting iconic characters of WWE history. No matter who you are or when you started watching wrestling, you recognize the grease painted clown face anywhere. Yet through all the different faces beneath the paint, its Matt Borne's mentally disturbed evil clown, that truly had the most impact. He made Doink a character to be reckoned with and somehow, someway Borne made the ridiculous over the top antics work and became over with the crowd.
