WWE: 10 Great Ideas For Raw The Night After WrestleMania 30
5. RVD Returns
RVD's return the night after WrestleMania has been reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, so unless Vince McMahon decides to postpone it to swerve fans, it can be considered a definite. RVD is a strange case, though he's a superstar, to be sure, but his age and schedule all but assure that he won't be seeing a title run or main event feud any time soon. What can he do to make an impact? The best fit for RVD would be a feud with Randy Orton. Orton needs to maintain some momentum after losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and a big win over old foe RVD at Extreme Rules would let him save a bit of face. As for Van Dam, putting Orton over seems to be a better use of his talents than, say, another feud with Alberto Del Rio or Dean Ambrose (or, God forbid, a rekindling of his alliance with Ricardo Rodriguez). Starting the feud on Raw would be easy just have Orton in the ring, ready for a match, when RVD's music hits. They have a long match, RVD scores the surprise win, and Orton goes crazy, seeking to avenge his loss and redeem his name it works perfectly. Plus, throwing Orton in there with smart-fan favorite RVD reduces the chances that the crowd will chant for announcers during his match.
