http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g1m2cXOQGM OK, so Sting has never been a WWE Superstar but he has come very close on a number of occasions and as most of his work is owned by WWE he qualifies for this list by default. We all know how close Sting came to signing with WWE a couple of years back and facing The Undertaker at Wrestlemania but what many people don't know is he almost wrestled years previously at Wrestlemania X8 against Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle. According to former WWE creative team member David Lagana Vince believed he would get the best match possible out of 'The Icon' by pairing him up with Angle. You only have to watch their matches in TNA to see that in their primes Angle and Sting would have been a fantastic match. Sadly though Sting didn't fancy the full time schedule that came with signing a WWE deal and the match never happened. This is perhaps the first time in years Sting hasn't been mentioned as a possible opponent to challenge The Streak but there's always next year. Given his age and his limitations inside the ring if Sting doesn't appear at Wrestlemania XXX then it's safe to say he will never appear at all.
