Whenever I think of Owen Hart I always smile because he always came across as a guy that loved being a professional wrestler. I'm also sad because of how he tragically died at the Over the Edge 1999 PPV event. He accomplished a lot in WWE with two IC Title reigns, one Euro Title run, four Tag Title reigns (with three partners) and the 1994 King of the Ring title. My favorite part of Owen's career was his run in 1994 that involved a year long feud with his older and more successful brother Bret. I always rooted for Owen even though he was a heel because I'm a younger brother too. It's hard to beat your older brother at things when you're younger, so I could relate to him. The jealous brother angle worked for me and I'm sure many other fans could relate too. The Owen/Bret match that opened WrestleMania 10 is nearly 20 years old now. It's the best opening match in the history of WWE PPVs and it will likely never be topped because it's one of the greatest matches ever as well. That whole storyline made a lot of sense. The fact that Owen beat Bret at a WrestleMania is the best moment of his career as well. It wasn't expected, but it was also the perfect way to tell that story. It's sad to think that Owen's life was cut short because of a silly stunt that wasn't necessary. I feel bad for his wife and children who lost him. Whether he makes the WWE Hall of Fame one day isn't really up to us. I don't blame his family for not wanting him to be in it. I'd be bitter about it too. If you look at his accomplishments, though, there's no question that he deserves it. Owen Hart was one of the best Canadian wrestlers ever. There's no denying that.
