WWE: 10 Greatest Hell in a Cell Matches

4. Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker - WWE Championship

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8ke9KYFUQk When: No Mercy 2002 Where: North Little Rock, Arkansas In his first year, Brock Lesnar tore through everybody the WWE could throw at him. Dominating like nobody else in history, he beat The Rock, Hulk Hogan, won the Royal Rumble, King of the Ring and even main evented WrestleMania. But in the middle of all this came a feud based on pure intensity like no other, a feud with the Undertaker. A double disqualification caused their Unforgiven match to end in a draw, so something more was needed - where there were no holds barred, no escape and disqualification was not an option - Hell in a Cell. Unlike every other match on this list, there was a distinct injury angle throughout. "The Next Big Thing" had 'broken' Taker's hand beforehand, meaning the American Bad Ass needed to wear a cast. Lesnar's dissection caused Undertaker to scream in pain, methodically directing attacks and submissions on the broken hand as every inch of the the closure was used for offence. Advantage Lesnar you would think, but unfortunately for him, the cast could also be used as a weapon as demonstrated by Taker's first offensive move in the contest and it took only 4 minutes for Lesnar to be busted open. Eventually Lesnar managed to strip the cast off and bare the flesh underneath. This cohesive story trumps what most other cell matches have attempted. It was a blood bath; not only were the two competitors bleeding buckets, but even Paul Heyman - and he wasn't even inside the confines of the cell! These two caged animals tore each other apart in a tremendous slugfest in its purest form. No kamikaze spots or escapes, just hard hitting and remorseless power. Not to mention the finish was excellent - Lesnar showing his amazing strength by reversing a Tombstone attempt into a F5. Brock Lesnar had reached the top of the mountain and was there to stay.
