WWE: 10 Greatest Moments Of Austin Vs McMahon Feud
6. Bang 3:16
Vince McMahon "fired" Steve Austin in 1998. Remember that thing I said about Vince's kayfabe happiness never lasting that long? Yeah, it didn't here, either. Austin showed up the arena on Raw and kidnapped Vince, making veiled threats about murdering him live on the air. Not beating up. Not crippling. Murdering. It was the Attitude Era, after all. You might as well take advantage of that. Vince, who was already in a wheelchair, sold everything beautifully as a man who was afraid for his life. The events culminated in both men going to the ring and Austin forcing Vince to get on his knees. Vince, with tears welling up in his eyes, begged and pleaded for Austin not to do it. To show you the mindset of the WWF fan base back then, the crowd cheered in anticipation of Vince being killed before their very eyes. Austin pulled a pistol out, placed it up to Vince's temple, pulled the trigger, and... a little white flag with "Bang 3:16" on it came out. Austin had been holding Vince hostage with a toy gun. The crowd laughed, and Austin then revealed to the world that Vince urinated on himself, coining the phrase "McMahon 3:16 says I just pissed my pants". Two Stone Cold Stunners later, and the night was over. Say whatever you like about Vince McMahon, both as an on-screen character and as a human being, but you can never say that he doesn't put himself out there for the entertainment of the fans. He's a billionaire businessman that could/should have been sitting behind a desk at headquarters and swimming in his own money, Scrooge McDuck-style, but he has been embarrassed on television more times than I can count. He pissed himself in front of millions of people! Vince McMahon is my hero.
