8. The Daughter With No Hands
In the Stampede territory ribs were pretty harsh. On a long bus trip Bruce and Bret Hart along with Bad News Brown (one of the hardest men in wrestling) decided to pull a pretty mean rib on Karl Moffat, an inexperienced wrestler on his first trip. Moffatt was very very afraid of Bad News Brown (as most people were) and was desperate to make a good impression on him always referring to him as 'sir' and being as deferential as possible. Bad News of course found all this rather amusing and no sold Moffats attempts to make friends by ignoring him and staring at him coldly if he tried to engage in conversation. Bruce and Bret Hart then decide to step things up a bit, they allow Moffat to overhear a conversation regarding the young daughter of Bad News Brown. Bruce relays to Bret that the young girl has been accepted to Julliard to play the piano and what an incredible achievement this is. Moffat, believing this story, goes to Bad News and congratulates him on his daughter's piano playing only to see Bad News eyes grow wide and say to him ' You muthaf***a , you know damn well my daughter lost both her hands in a boating accident last year, I ought to f***ing kill you.' Moffat is bereft and retreats to the back of the bus where he begins weeping at the thought of the inevitable beating he will be getting over this terrible insult. The Harts and Bad News allow this to continue for over 300 miles before finally letting Moffat in on the joke hopefully before he soiled himself.
