WWE: 10 Hilarious Sources Of Wrestling Humour

2. The Colt Cabana Collection

What it is: An assortment of hilarious wrestling-meets-comedy projects by indy impresario Colt Cabana. His best known and longest running project, the Art of Wrestling Podcast, should be a weekly listen for all wrestling fans, and has spawned many imitators (but no duplicators). His documentary, The Wrestling Road Diaries, is a fun and riveting glimpse into the lives of the indy wrestlers (and features Daniel Bryan on the cusp of his WWE debut). He did a month-long stretch at the world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he provided commentary to terrible wrestling -- a spin-off of the amazing Five Dollar Wrestling series. With stand-up comic Marty DeRosa, he creates hilarious weekly webisodes, from the now-completed Creative Has Nothing For You to the fantastic Worst Promo Ever. Cabana had a very brief "cup of coffee" tenure in WWE and is best buds with CM Punk, so he has plenty of cool tales from the big leagues, but his real appeal is his accessible, friendly tales from the lesser-known world of indy wrestling. Why it's funny: Cabana is a charming goofball who is not afraid to make himself, or his beloved profession, look silly. He is constantly coming up with new and creative ways to get a laugh. If you can't find something in his repertoire to chortle at, then you have a defective sense of humor. You'll enjoy it if: You appreciate comedy podcasts like Marc Maron's WTF or Comedy Bang Bang (the inspirations behind the Art of Wrestling), you dig Mystery Science Theater 3000 (the blueprint for Five Dollar Wrestling), and if you like to hear what life is really like for the vast majority of wrestlers who never make it to the upper echelon of WWE.
