Wrestling has a long history of catchphrases from both heels and faces. Some of them are great. Some of them are clever, fit the person saying them perfectly, have originality, and get the crowd excited. They don't have to be too complicated. In fact, they should be simple, so everyone can follow along and enjoy them. Then, there are the bad ones. You've all heard them. They don't make any real sense at all. They don't really fit the character in any way. They're just... bad. Sometimes, it's a face delivering them, and other times, it's a heel doing the work. There are no special qualifications, in that regard. They don't even have to be attached to poor workers. Sometimes, the best wrestlers can have the worst catchphrases. Hell, the catchphrases don't all necessarily ruin careers. They're just, as the title indicates, irritating. They grate on your ears when you hear them, and you want to skip ahead with what you're watching. This won't be an altogether enjoyable trip down memory lane, but it's a necessary one, and one that will hopefully provide tips and pointers on what to look for when you're searching for a truly irritating wrestling catchphrase.
10. You Gon' Get Got!
While this one makes sense for R-Truth's character, it's simply embarrassing, as a human being, to sit and listen to. Truth's character has basically been turned into a modern day minstrel show, and other than the money he gets paid, people are still wondering why he even allows it to happen. It takes a special kind of man to be comfortable allowing yourself to participate in that type of buffoonery in front of thousands in attendance and millions watching at home on television. This catchphrase pretty much told the world that Ron Killings, the man, had no shame. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5_7ucXjSQc It's also why nobody was able to take him seriously when he turned heel, and the company tried to change directions with his character. Nobody bought into it, and it didn't last very long until he was back to being a goofy guy again. Even that didn't last too long, and he was right back to being the "normal" face R-Truth that everyone knew so well.
