WWE: 10 Lasting Legacies Of The Undertaker (Other Than The Streak)

10. If This Is The End, He Went Out The Right Way

A lot of fans are still complaining about the end of The Undertaker's match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Why? Because they didn't want The Streak to end. They thought it was this important thing that should never be broken because ending The Streak would mean something bad for Undertaker. Here we are a week later and it's still upsetting people. When you look at the history of wrestling there's a common theme when a wrestler retires. They lose on the way out. Steve Austin lost to The Rock in his last match, Shawn Michaels lost to Undertaker in his last match, Ric Flair lost to Shawn Michaels in his last WWE match and the list goes on. If this is the last match of Undertaker's career then he ended it by doing the right thing and putting somebody else over. This is wrestling tradition. When Vince McMahon approached Undertaker about losing, it was because that's how the business has always done things like this. Sure, most of us assumed that Undertaker would never lose at WrestleMania, but when you think about it now it does make sense. Everybody has to lose. Nobody is invincible. That's the message to take away from this.
