3. Ric Flair Wins The WWF Title In The Royal Rumble (1992)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d84_CCzFpA After two controversial WWF Title matches between The Undertaker and Hulk Hogan (in which each wrestler cheated to beat the other), the title was made vacant and it was declared that whoever won the Royal Rumble would also win the WWF Title, an unprecedented decision that made the Rumble match even more exciting than it already was. Ric Flair would eventually go on to win the Rumble, eliminating Sid Justice with the help of some distraction from Hulk Hogan, but it's Flair's journey that made the match so memorable. Flair entered at #3, much to the despair of commentator and head Flair cheerleader Bobby Heenan, who hilariously spent most of the Rumble rooting for his buddy. Flair's ring time totaled 34 seconds shy of an hour, and stands as one of the best performances in a Rumble match to date. The fact that he won the WWF Title from the match just makes it all the more iconic and unforgettable.
