8. Warrior's WCW Debut
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeC7n4wTnXA During the Monday Night War, WCW was incredibly hot, but was starting to lose some ground to Vince McMahon's company. They had brought in plenty of the WWF's stars over the past four years: Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, The Big Bossman, Diesel, Razor Ramon, Roddy Piper and many more jumped ship. But one big name was not under Eric Bischoff's control, and that was The Ultimate Warrior. WCW had earlier tried to create their own Ultimate Warrior with The Renegade, but it was clear that there is only one. To fans who didn't know a lot about the behind-the-scenes activity, it seemed like a given that Warrior would eventually join up. But he spent two years after his WWF run laying low and out of sight. Eventually, rumors started to emerge that he was WCW bound. As I watched Nitro and Thunder in 1998, I began to see fans holding up signs in the crowd referring to The Ultimate Warrior. I was hopeful that he would debut at any time, but didn't think there was anything to it. Finally, my sister's boyfriend alerted me that Warrior was indeed coming back. I was excited, but skeptical. I didn't have the Internet at the time, so I couldn't confirm that it was happening, but I remained hopeful. . The night he did debut in WCW, it felt like everyone knew it was coming. As Hogan was delivering another long, drawn out speech, he uttered the lines "There's not a wrestler I can't beat to get my belt back. There's not a war that I can't win to get my belt back. And there's not a warrior in the world that I can't beat to get my belt back." Big mistake. This, in turn, brought out Warrior (who due to legal issues, was no longer "Ultimate"). The fans exploded. I was hooked on every word of his promo on Hogan...until it turned into his classic psuedo-philosophical mumbo jumbo. But hey, it was just awesome to see him back at all. There was a lot of help that some memorable things would happen. And they sure did...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
