WWE: 10 Men Most Likely To End Daniel Bryan's Title Reign

10. Kane

Let's get the most immediate threat to Bryan's championship out of the way first, shall we? Bryan's main opposition in his quest for the belts were Randy Orton, Triple H, and to a latter extent, Batista. Following Wrestlemania, it's become apparent that all three men are out of the picture, for now at least. They're all tied up at Extreme Rules in a match against The Shield. This could become a long running feud, or it could be all wrapped up after the PPV, we wont know until Monday. But regardless, Daniel Bryan's immediate opposition needed to come from The Authority if the storyline would have any long term weight. With the main heels occupied elsewhere and Stephanie McMahon being out of the question (despite what the memes would have you believe) the task has fallen to Kane. Kane has had a bit of a strange time over these last twelve months. Around the same time that Bryan's quest for the title began, he was abducted by the Wyatts, came back after a few months, unmasked himself (again) and began wearing a suit and tie and working as "Director of Operations". His remasking in the past few weeks has flipped his character again from "corporate stooge" to "Jason Voorhees". Now, since I grew up watching the Attitude era, I obviously love Kane in a mask, but this has been very confusing in terms of storyline. That being said, Kane has always worked best as a monster, so we'll see where they take it after the PPV. Long time fans will tell you that Kane is arguably the most underappreciated athlete in the WWE roster. He's been with the company since 1995, and has worked very hard for them. But for all his efforts, he's never been really put as "the main guy" for any length of time. If we look at his world title reigns, he's a one-time World Heavyweight Champion (which has never really been the "big" belt) and a one time ECW Champion (pfffffft!). The only time he's held the main WWE Championship was way back in 1998. And he held it for a day. Compared to his brother The Undertaker, who has held 7 world championships, Kane is very much taken for granted. Kane has been with the company a long time, and is getting older (he turned 47 a few weeks ago) and it could well be that WWE want to reward the Big Red Machine with one last title reign before he retires. It's a possibility. But if it's going to happen, it wont be on Sunday. Bryan's quest was too hard of an uphill battle to lose the belts after only a month.
