WWE: 10 Most Show Stealing Chris Jericho Performances

9. Fatal 4-Way Intercontinental Championship Match - Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. X-Pac (No Way Out 2001)

Take four of the best wrestlers in the world, put them in one match for the coveted Intercontinental Championship and let them do what they do better than just about anyone else. That was exactly what WWE did when it presented its No Way Out pay-per-view in February 2001. Chris Jericho, the Intercontinental champion, defended his title against former champion Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and X-Pac in a Fatal 4-Way match. Fans marveled at the superb in-ring war that unfolded between them. The nearfalls captivated them and created drama that fueled the contest. Interference from Justin Credible, who had recently debuted as an associate of X-Pac's, threatened to mar the match but failed. The work of the men involved, it turned out, was so strong that no amount of unnecessary booking could ruin what they were crafting. The second match of the night, Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero and X-Pac set the bar for the rest of the night's bouts to try to exceed. Without it, the show would still be a great night of action, capped off by two great main events. With it, No Way Out 2001 became one of the greatest shows in WWE history. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xl0bp8_chris-jericho-vs-chris-benoit-vs-x-pac-vs-eddie-guerrero-no-way-out-2001-intercontinental-championsh_sport Jericho retained his title, overcoming the challenge of his three exemplary opponents to set up a heated showdown between he and William Regal just over a month later at WrestleMania X-Seven.
