WWE: 10 People Who Quietly Had A Huge Influence In Its Success

8. Jamie Noble

A vastly underrated in-ring worker, Jamie Noble never really got the chance he deserved when wrestling under his doofus red neck gimmick from 2002-2004. Despite the limited success of his WWE role, his ability was never in question. Noble was hugely respected by his peers and the road agents who directed in-ring content. Noble ended up proving his ability to more critical acclaim in Ring of Honor and Japan. Working as James Gibson he was a ROH Champion and revered as one of the best wrestlers in the world from 04 to 05. The result was that Noble got quickly brought back to WWE, and now in addition to competing, he was given the responsibility of directing matches. On board as a road agent, Noble now advised talent on how to put matches together. His role in direction has been hugely beneficial to the company and he can be attributed with the increase of a pure wrestling style we now see on television. He has taught students in FCW and is seen as one of the go to guys for putting together a top technical wrestling match.
