10. Re-Debut Didn't Deliver

We had high expectations for Batista coming back, built up by the man himself who tweeted ...
"I can't wait to get to the Cheesefest in Hoakietown and punch somebody right In the f'n face! Playtime's over children."
Wow. That sounded promising to say the least. The man who had berated PG content was going to return and add some attitude to the WWE. Except what actually happened was Batista came down to the ring last night on Raw, gave Stephanie McMahon a cheesy hug, gave Triple H some respect and then delivered a hoakie promo to Randy Orton. It was the same old stuff we have seen a thousand times, and quite why Hunter and Stephanie were involved is beyond me. The presence of the Authority served to only undermine Batista. The segment wasn't about Batista and Orton, it was about the Authority setting Orton up to come face to face with Batista. It didn't really work. The Animal should have been coming out as the straight shooter he promised. Instead of this multi man segment it should have been a raucous run in. Batista coming out all guns blazing to batter someone is the kind of Animal that we all want to see. Instead we got a guy who gave respect up to the Authority and delivered a weak threat to former adversary Randy Orton. This would have got a far better reaction had Batista did what he said he would do - "punch somebody right in the f'n face!"
