8. Grading Big E As Intercontinental Champion
From @WalderSports: It's looking more and more like Big E will drop IC title at Extreme Rules. How would you grade his reign as champ?
He gets a C for being below average as the Intercontinental Champion. It's not his fault, though. Blame the booking because they haven't made the IC Title seem important while Big E has been holding it. When they put the IC Title on Big E, the thinking was that it would help make him a bigger star because he could defend the title on a regular basis against different heels and earn the respect of the fans as a fighting champion. Instead, he's barely had any televised matches where he defended the IC Title and has no feuds to speak of. It's another example of WWE neglecting the midcard. You would think that they put the IC Title on Big E for a reason - to elevate the guy to the point where people would buy into him as a potential future main eventer. His likely opponent at Extreme Rules will be Cesaro or Barrett. Big E should retain. Give him a longer reign, but make sure he has a lot more title defenses.
