WWE: 10 Questions You Most Want Answered (April 26)
7. Reflecting On WWE In 2014 So Far
From @MatthewToy: 2014 has been a tumultuous year for WWE. Where would you put it all time?
It's only been four months, but it's been pretty wild. There have been a lot of positives namely the push of Daniel Bryan and his WrestleMania 30 WWE World Heavyweight Championship win. He got married within a week later and then when he came back from his honeymoon his dad died. I can't imagine what he's gone through this month alone. It's been tough for us as fans just because we like the guy so much. There has been a lot of sadness with the passing of the Ultimate Warrior too. It was so cool to be able to see him at the Hall of Fame, WrestleMania and then in that Raw ring shaking the ropes one more time. Knowing that he passed away the next day breaks my heart. Hopefully there's nothing as sad as that the rest of this year because it has depressed a lot of fans. The Royal Rumble was one of the most historic ever for two bad reasons. First of all, Batista ended up winning the match and getting booed while the crowd was pissed off due to no Daniel Bryan in the match. The second reason is that CM Punk left WWE entirely the next day because he was unhappy with the direction of the company. If Batista didn't get booed that much and Punk didn't leave, it's unlikely that Bryan would have been celebrating at the end of WrestleMania 30 as the WWE Champion. How about The Undertaker losing at WrestleMania? Few people saw that coming. There was also the launch of WWE Network, which has taken WWE to a whole other level because if it works and continues to grow they will become an even bigger company. It's been pretty wild. I don't know how to rate it on a number scale, but I think the WWE product is very good now. Not only are we seeing quality matches on television every week, but there's a lot of exciting younger talent on the shows that are getting a lot of TV time. The more we see of Bryan, Wyatt, Reigns, Ambrose, Rollins, Cesaro, Big E and guys like that then the better it is for the program. Mix them in with the vets, build the tag division, give the divas more in ring time and watch everything else improve. A lot has happened in WWE so far in 2014 and we're only one third of the way through the year. Here's hoping there are more fun thing in store the rest of the way.
