WWE: 10 Questions You Most Want Answered (July 26)
7. Could Rusev Turn Out To Be A Joke Like Kozlov?
From @JerseyDevilDH: Do you see Rusev going down the path of Vladimir Kozlov (relegated to comedy segments/jobbing) once WWE gets bored of him?
It's possible, but at this point I'm going to say no. Rusev is 28 years old (born on Christmas actually), has very good athleticism for his size and he's been wrestling since about 2008. Another big factor is that he has Lana with him, who is a tremendous talker that is not afraid to say anything to get heat from the crowd. Kozlov was more of a loner that couldn't really do promos; when he said "dubya dubya e" it was not intimidating, it made us laugh. There's always a danger that the Rusev gimmick will fail. However, he appears to be talented enough to make it work. Plus with Lana involved there he's going to have more staying power. Rusev should be fine as long as they take their time with him. By the way, on a Kozlov note he was in a few episodes of the HBO show The Wire - an astonishingly good dramatic TV show that deserves your attention.
