WWE: 10 Questions You Most Want Answered (July 5)

1. Hulk Hogan's Prime In Today's WWE?

From @rocco_619: Would Hulkamania have been as big or bigger if he was in prime now? Based on more PPVs + social media as opposed to mid 80's?
This is a type of question with no right or wrong answer, but my feeling is that he was in the right place at the right time. Hogan was the man in WWE for nearly ten years from 1984 into the early 1990s, but if you watched a show like the 1992 Royal Rumble you could hear fans cheer when he got eliminated. He left WWE in 1994 because he knew it was time to go. He did as much as he could there. It also helped him that WCW paid him a lot of money; probably more than what WWE was paying him. Hogan likely wouldn't be bigger in today's wrestling. His whole act was a bit cheesy in the 1980s and when you think about the 1980s, they were cheesy too. Fans are smarter today. The business has changed. Hogan was a below average in-ring worker, but he had incredible charisma that carried him a long way. Give him credit for doing what he did. It just seemed like he was limited as a performer. Maybe he would have adapted in 2014 WWE. We don't know. He did what he needed to get by and became arguably the most famous wrestler ever. That doesn't mean it would have worked in this era. That was a really good and unique question. Keep them coming next week by following me @johnreport and I'll be asking for more questions next Friday morning. Thanks for your support.
