It seems like every week I get asked about titles in WWE, which shows that fans do care about the gold. Fans want to see those titles come off as important. The good news is that WWE has done a good job with the IC & US Titles of late because Barrett & Sheamus are both credible champions. There are still problems, like when the champs lose nearly every non-title match they have and their feuds don't really come off like a big deal, but it's better than how it was when others were holding the titles. They need to have some long term feuds, perhaps a gimmick match would work or maybe a best of 7 series. Just do something to make those titles look like they are important to the current champion and that when they lose the gold it needs to be celebrated like a big deal by the new champions. It's all in the booking.
