WWE: 10 Questions You Most Want Answered (June 21)

3. Best Decade Of Wrestling?

From @rocco_619: Which decade/era of wrestling do you rate as the best: 1980s, 1990s, 2000s??
That's a really tough answer although I have been watching for about 30 years (I'm 33) and that's how long WrestleMania has been around, so it's a fair question. My immediate answer is the 2000s from a WWE standpoint just because they really figured out how to build up PPVs and had some really great rosters in that period as well. If you look at the 1990s there were periods in the middle there where the roster was so thin and shows were pretty bad, so it's hard to say it was the best. The 1980s were a period of discovery in a lot of ways. I don't think it was the best of times for WWE just because they made a lot of mistakes. When you consider other American companies then the 1990s would be the best just because of the fun that was involved with the Monday Night Wars, not to mention ECW as a very strong third promotion that was so influential. It was such a great period to watch as we saw the rise of guys like Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, Triple H and so many others while WCW brought a lot to the table as well. That's a complicated reply, but I think for the business as a whole the answer is the 1990s due to the boom of the business in the last five years of that decade. However, for WWE only I'd say the 2000s were the best.
