From @tmurph0789: Do you think Tyler Breeze has a chance to be successful with this gimmick or does he get the Fandango treatment by writers?
It's a great gimmick. For those that don't watch NXT, Breeze is a talented Canadian wrestler in his mid 20s that was trained by Lance Storm. He carries a cell phone in his hand and brags about how good he looks. That's the kind of character that has been around in wrestling forever, but he takes it to the next level. His facial expressions are funny, the hair and outfit fit perfectly and they even have him singing his own theme song now. Now that he's the number one contender for the NXT Title, it's obvious that WWE has high hopes for him. He's probably a year away from being called up to Raw or Smackdown because there are others on the show that deserve it too. Whether the gimmick succeeds or not at the next level, nobody knows at this point. I think it's a better gimmick than Fandango, who merely dances to the ring and he used to get mad when people pronounced his name wrong. You can only go so far with that. Breeze's character isn't that original in wrestling history because there have been a lot of guys obsessed with their looks, but it can still work in this era especially because the "selfie" pic is so annoying to those of us that live in a world where we don't take photos of ourselves 20 times a day.
