WWE: 10 Real Controversies We Want The WWE Network To Cover

4. Katie Vick

http://youtu.be/teuEgJPCepQ?t=56s The Katie Vick saga is one of the most ill conceived, embarrassing storylines that the WWE have ever put on TV. It all started out so well on a "Raw Roulette" episode of Monday Night Raw on October 7th 2002. As a result of the Roulette wheel picking the stipulation, Kane and the Hurricane were scheduled to defend the Tag Team Titles in a TLC match, which the Hurricane was for some reason taken out of. It was a great Raw main event in which Kane overcame the odds and won the Tag Titles on his own in order to build him up for a match against Triple H. As Kane celebrated his big win, he was interrupted by his future opponent who came out and told the world that he knew a secret about Kane. He asked if the name Katie Vick rang a bell then let us all know that Kane was a MURDERER! Eyes rolled at the stupidity of the story that was just unleashed but no one had any idea how silly it was abut to get. A week later, Kane came to the ring to explain what happened. He told the story of his old girlfriend Katie Vick who he accidentally killed in a drunk driving accident. It seemed like a throwaway idea at the time that was just cheaply brought up so that Triple H had something over Kane. It could have ended there... but we all know it didn't. On the October 21st Raw, things went from bad to worse when a clip appeared on our screens depicting that it was Katie Vick's funeral complete with a dummy in the casket meant to be Katie. Enter Triple H, wearing a Kane mask who proceeded to jump in the casket with his dead ex girlfriend and make love to her one last time. The commentators couldn't believe it. And they weren't the only ones. It is one of the most universally mocked segments in WWE history and you really have to wonder what was going through their minds when they thought it was a good idea. While looking for clips of the story on YouTube I noticed that all traces of the Katie Vick saga were conspicuous by their absence. If the WWE can look at it with a sense of humour, they might realise that fans love a car crash and a lot of people would probably watch the Katie Vick saga again just to relive how bad it really was. In order to maximize usage of the WWE library, a series on the Most Embarrassing Storylines could be a great way to lure in some extra viewers. The 4 weeks of segments between Kane and Triple H could be a great half hour show, rounded off with the feud ending Casket Match they had on the October 28th Raw.
