WWE: 10 Reasons Daniel Bryan's Yes Movement Is Dead
7. The Mentality Of The Modern WWE Fan
Sometimes you have to feel for WWE's Creative team - it used to be so much easier for them to write a script. Way back when, a face was a face, and a heel was a heel. It was as simple as that, and there was very little thinking needed to push a face or a heel. These days though, the modern WWE fan is going through something of a personality transplant, which is increasingly evident by the number of face and heel turns we are seeing at the top of the company. For example, The Shield. They were doing a pretty good job at getting some real heat as a heel stable, but they became so popular, WWE fans fell in love with them (not literally, although a few signs relating to Roman Reigns of late do make you wonder). The same is almost happening with Bray Wyatt, it's already happened with Bad News Barrett, and because those things are happening, the reverse is transpiring with legitimate babyfaces. Sheamus gets the kind of heat he used to have when he was ending Jamie Noble's career and kicking Jerry Lawler's head off, despite him being a face. And unfortunately, when Bryan returns, there will be nowhere near the level of interest in him which he garnered over the first few months of 2014. The same will happen with someone else in the future - maybe it will be Roman Reigns. But Bryan's popularity has waned because WWE fans just aren't that into good guys for all too long.
