WWE: 10 Reasons A Live Smackdown Will Be Infinitely More Interesting

3. Live On Another Night

Smackdown 20131 Shows that air on Fridays usually lead to cancellations. It's why the popular term Friday night death slot was coined. Smackdown happens to air during this dreaded death slot. The belief is that people rarely watch television on Friday or Saturday nights because people tend to leave the house for activities outside the home, especially the key younger demographic. Any other day of the week would work best in the interest of increasing viewership on Smackdown. Ideally they could air it on Tuesday, when it is usually taped. But they could also move the show to Thursdays and go head-to-head with TNA. WWE could even consider airing the programming live on the WWE Network. The network as it is currently constructed lacks original programming, airing Smackdown live immediately helps fix that issue.
