WWE WrestleMania 30: 10 Reasons The Undertaker Losing The Streak Was A Waste Of 22 Years
2. No Superstar Was Made
The best asset of having something like The Undertaker's streak in a scripted environment is that it can eventually be used to create a superstar. Take Goldberg, for example. The main reason why the loss of Goldberg's streak was such a sour moment for fans is because rather than giving the win to one of WCW's younger talents and turning them into a made man, Kevin Nash was the one who (booked himself to) beat the biggest star in the company. It was a wasted opportunity and hurt WCW in the long and short term. WWE is fortunate enough to have several names who they're already looking to as future stars. The missed a prime chance to turn one of them into a megastar by having them break the streak. Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt or Cesaro would have all made ideal candidates to be the one to finally put an end to The Deadman once and for all. Since we will likely never see a streak anywhere near as impressive again, that was a one- time chance that is lost forever.
