Let's face it. Wrestling fans are a fickle bunch. We're impossible to please, we criticize everything and we think we know more than the professionals who have been involved in the business their entire lives. Sometimes, we may even be right, but other than the rumors we grab from various websites and dirtsheets, we're not privy to any of the actual reasons behind the decision-making. From the moment it was announced that WrestleMania XXX would feature Undertaker defending the streak against Brock Lesnar, fans everywhere railed against the company for burning one of Taker's precious few remaining Mania matches on Brock Lesnar. It's not that fans don't enjoy Lesnar. He's one of the most exciting performers in the world. But we bemoaned putting Undertaker in a match against a guy who we KNEW was not going to end the streak. With Mark Calloway on his last legs in the ring, the time felt right for a John Cena/Undertaker showdown, one of the last true dream matches WWE could put together featuring currently contracted talent. But Cena was tied up with Bray Wyatt (beating him clean, which also sent fans into a rage) and WWE pushed ahead with the pairing. How dare they insult us with a match where there's no question as to the result? We complain incessantly about the predictability of the outcome. So what does WWE do? They do the unthinkable, and give us the ending we never expected, So do we credit the company for legitimately shocking its audience? Not even a little bit. Some jerk even wrote an article about why it was the wrong decision. Agree or disagree? Let me know what you thought of the streak's end in the comments.
