One of the only reasons fans have been accepting of The Undertaker's role as a part-timer who makes hardly anything more than his annual WrestleMania match and a handful of appearances leading up to it is due to the mythological status the streak has taken on. The Undertaker himself, while undoubtedly a draw for the company, is a man who needs the streak to remain relevant at this stage of his career. The Undertaker is a man who was seemingly able to draw on a reserve of superhuman strength and durability once a year at the big event. With the death of the streak, his mystique dies along with it.
