Speaking of narrative, the story you are telling through this match is another reason that it needs to happen. You have Evolution, all now in their 30s and 40s, having accomplished so much collectively and individually in the WWE. They have multiple World Championships, Royal Rumble victories, Wrestlemania victories and countless more career defining moments between them. That said, they are getting older, and younger guys are coming up looking for the top spots that they occupy. Evolution are the older guys desperately clinging to their glory days, not willing to relinquish the spots that they occupy at the top of the mountain while The Shield are the young (all in their 20s) and hungry guys that are looking the knock the kings off the top of their mountain and take their places, ushering in a new era. It's a classic narrative theme: The Old vs. The New, and anytime the WWE has the opportunity to tell such a classic and relatable story, one that every person will be able to empathize with on some level, they need to jump on it and tell that story. The WWE is known for their over the top brand of storytelling but this feud will be grounded in a theme that is prevalent in every aspect of life.
