4. It Raises The Stakes For The Shield

Coming off of The Shield's face off and eventual battle with The Wyatts (a battle that included a "This Is Awesome" chant before the two teams even touched in a match) most people didn't think there was another match of that magnitude out there for The Shield. The Shield vs. The Wyatts was the trio's peak, the highest hurdle for The Shield to clear, and once they did, they would have nothing more to accomplish as a collective. Then the post Wrestlemania Raw happened, and we caught a glimpse of how to raise the stakes for The Shield. The Shield vs. Evolution is the next obstacle for The Shield to overcome. In many respects, it is an even more attractive match-up on paper than Shield/Wyatts. While the Shield vs. the Wyatts was cool because we wanted to see two polar opposite factions that captured the imaginations and interests of the fans go at it, The Shield vs. Evolution presents an even bigger challenge for The Shield as characters, and the opportunity for deeper storytelling. Evolutions, unlike The Wyatts wield real tangible power, as HHH is the COO and is a threat to The Shield in a way that The Wyatts simply can't match. It's like The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family was that badass action flick or horror film that had your adrenaline rushing throughout, while The Shield vs. Evolution is a Thriller, that can have twists, turns, plot developments on both sides, as well as fantastic in-ring action. It simply offers more than cheap thrills (but the cheap thrills were really fun!).
