WWE: 10 Rivalries That Were Too Personal To Be Fake
10. Ric Flair And Mick Foley
Ric Flair's beef with Mick Foley goes back to the 1990s when Foley was a WCW wrestler and Flair was a top guy that was also booking the shows. Foley had this to say about Flair: "Flair was every bit as bad on the booking side of things as he was great on the wrestling side of it." Foley moved on to WWE in the mid 1990s and the two really didn't associate with each other again until Flair went to WWE in late 2001. When Flair's autobiography was released in 2004, he criticized Foley: "Foley has a cult following because of his contribution to hardcore wrestling. But hardcore is such a small part of the history of this business. When I was training, falling off a ladder was not a prerequisite to making it was a professional wrestler. I don't care how many thumbtacks Mick Foley has fallen on, how many ladders he's fallen off of, how many continents he's supposedly bled on, he'll always be known as a glorified stuntman." It's the "glorified stuntman" phrase that really got people talking and it angered Foley. While Foley was known for his hardcore style, there was a lot more to him as a performer and he felt disrespected by what Flair said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6IajS-J7kI Flair and Foley ended up having a feud win WWE in 2006 leading to a couple of matches and also in TNA a few years later. Apparently those feuds seemed to have squashed the beef between both men because they are said to be on friendly terms these days.
