WWE: 10 Rivalries That Were Too Personal To Be Fake

9. Hulk Hogan And The Iron Sheik

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDCLKAyBDPE (Note: Colorful language used in interview.) When it comes to The Iron Sheik and Hulk Hogan, they are two of the toughest men to get a read on. Sheik has been known for his expletive filled rants while entertaining us thoroughly with his tweets these days, but there's some question about what he really thinks about things. He may just be working to get a laugh. Hogan is a notorious liar, so whenever he says something the smartest thing we can do as fans is question it. Hulk Hogan won his first WWE Championship from the Iron Sheik in 1984. In doing so, he became the face of WWE and somebody the company could build around for the future. The story goes that AWA promoter Verne Gagne offered Iron Sheik $100,000 to break Hulk Hogan's leg in their famous 1984 WWF Championship match and take the WWE Title back with him to the AWA in Minnesota. That didn't happen because Sheik was loyal to Vince McMahon, but it must have been hard to turn that money down. Over the years, Sheik has done many interviews where he has continually ripped on Hulk Hogan. Is it all a work or is there legit heat? It likely was legit in the sense that he kept doing it all the time and it's not like they were building up to another match. Since Hulk Hogan makes an appearance in the new documentary that Iron Sheik made with his team about his life, it appears as though everything is good between the two men now.
