WWE: 10 Most Shocking Unmaskings

7. Hulk Hogan As Mr. America

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSbpt8KkPi8 "I am not Hulk Hogan, brother." Following the Hulk Hogan/Vince McMahon match at WrestleMania 19, Hogan was told to stay at home by McMahon because he waned Hulkamania to die. Then on May 1, 2003 (a month after WrestleMania 19), Mr. America debuted on Smackdown. Mr. America drew a huge reaction immediately thanks to his "Real American" theme song and the crowd immediately knew what was up. It was not a case of WWE trying to hide the identity. It was simply Hogan finding a way to be on the show. They made a lot of jokes about it, so that's good. It's better than trying to insult fans by having the announcers be shocked about who it was. They even had a lie detector test. Mr. America would also say "brother" a lot and do Hogan poses. While some parts of it were funny, his match with Roddy Piper at Judgment Day 2003 was atrociously. The gimmick ended rather suddenly soon after that and Hogan was gone from WWE in mid 2003 until his return in 2005 when he was inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame.
