8. Ric Flair As Black Scorpion
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGJG3NPOBdI Sting vs. Ric Flair is one of the greatest NWA/WCW rivalries ever. It's probably the rivalry that fans most remember NWA/WCW for. At the Starrcade 1990 event, which was supposed to be WCW's WrestleMania to end the year, Sting defended the NWA World Title against The Black Scorpion in a steel cage match. There was a mystery about who it was, but if you saw the event you could tell who it was from the moment he walked that aisle. Sting was able to win the match and then as Starrcade went off the air, he ripped a mask off. There was another mask, though. What's amazing is that the Scorpion actually was bleeding from being thrown in the cage despite having two masks on! That's a dedicated bleeder right there. At the very end of the show, he was unmasked one more time and it ended up being Sting's arch nemesis Ric Flair. Perhaps they were sick of doing Sting vs. Flair since they had done it a lot by that point, but looking back on it I think it's fair to say that Black Scorpion was a bad idea. By the way, this mock tribute video on youtube is great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2MYAzUHwWg
