WWE: 10 Steps To Booking Sting vs The Undertaker At WrestleMania 31

10. Debut Sting Night After WrestleMania 30 - April 7th 2014: Raw in New Orleans, LA

This first step on this year-long journey is the simplest. Debut Sting in front of the IWC-heavy crowd, on the night after Wrestlemania 30, when we know big things do indeed happen. Undertaker, fresh of his big victory over Brock Lesnar can approach the ring at the close of the show to "address the WWE universe", which, as we all know, is announcer-talk for "be interrupted by someone." There's a fair chance the live crowd will already be chanting for Sting before 'Taker even speaks a word, so let's have him say nothing. Now, I did debate in my head earlier about whether Sting debuting in WWE as Crow Sting would be a good move or a bad move, mainly because Steve Borden is getting up there now and the whole face-paint gimmick was starting to look daft on a 50+ year old man in TNA but with the launch of the WWE network and the sudden availability of Sting's entire run as Crow Sting from WCW on there, I do think that and the obvious parallels in the look and the mechanics of the gimmick to that of Undertaker's means Sting should come in as Crow Sting. WWE, in the past, have tended to shy away from utilising too many concepts that were of WCW origin but I believe they should make an exception in this case, partly because they can use the angle to cross-promote the WWE Network. If they need to have Steve Borden wear a wig even, to make the image work then so be it, you can run an angle where he cuts his hair, exactly like 'Taker did, later. I get the impression WWE isn't going to allow themselves to outright copy the way Crow Sting was brought in, in WCW- especially with regards to the descent from the rafters, after what happened to Owen Hart- but they probably should. With Undertaker in the ring, have the lights go out and one of Sting's old monologues play over the loudspeakers. The crowd will go berserk. Then just have Sting enter the ring and stare down Undertaker. Signature pops up and it fades out, not a word spoken. It's simple. It's obvious and it's easy. So do it.
