WWE: 10 Superstars Who Could Never Let Wrestling Go

6. Jerry Lawler

Jerry Lawler I don't want this to sound as bad as it does, but we all know that Jerry very nearly did die at ringside in September 2012. Thankfully, the EMT's were able to perform CPR on him and resuscitate him. WWE has said that he will not be wrestling in their ring and he continues to commentate on Raw and Pay-Per-Views. But he continues to do appearances on the independent scene. And by appearances, I mean that there are times that he wrestles. Obviously he can't perform to the levels that he did in his prime (he's 64) but he shouldn't be wrestling at all. However, he loves it. It's what he knows. It's sad to say that he'll be involved in wrestling until he physically can't, rather than walk away and enjoy the fruits of his labours.

I am a teacher, but also write about all things wrestling. I have been writing/interviewing wrestling personalities for over 7 years for both the Wrestling Observer site, as well as The History Of WWE site.
