WWE: 10 Superstars Who Really Were The Total Package
4. Randy Savage
Of course, even before the days of sports entertainment, there were a handful stars beginning to break the mould and become more than just your average wrestler. One of those men was the "Macho Man" Randy Savage. A stellar performer between the ropes, he was involved in what is widely considered one of the greatest matches of all time when he faced Rickie "the Dragon" Steamboat for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 3. Exciting signature moves such as his patented elbow drop only further endeared him to the WWE fans. Blessed with a voice that distinguished him amongst others, he combined that gift with a fierce intensity to become a truly accomplished talker. But it wouldn't be fair to mention Savage without mentioning his former manager and one-time wife, Miss Elizabeth. Together the pair achieved celebrity status in the wrestling world, and went on to produce one of the most touching genuinely moments in WrestleMania history when they reunited after Savage's loss to the Ultimate Warrior. These larger than life attributes, as well as his trademark catchphrase and grandiose theme music, made Savage a true star the kind of star who even today would be right at home in the modern era.
