WWE: 10 Superstars Who Really Were The Total Package
3. Curt Hennig
Curt Hennig was indeed perfect. Sure, it started out as nothing more than a gimmick, but the reason they gave him that moniker in the first place was most likely because it fit him so well. In the ring he was impeccable. WWE.com describes him as having "set a higher standard for technical wrestling" in the company, and his Perfectplex finishing maneuver was justifiably named. He is best remembered for his second run with the company which saw him drop his real name completely and simply become known as Mr. Perfect. Under this persona, he featured in a number of entertaining sports vignettes in which he often showed off how much better he was than Hulk Hogan. Perhaps his greatest achievement though regards the Intercontinental Championship. In his two reigns as champion, Hennig held the strap for a total of 406 days and was instrumental in the building the value of the title and helping to rival the WWE Championship as the top belt in the company. His battle with Bret Hart in 1991 is widely considered one of the best ever matches at the SummerSlam pay-per-view, and rightfully so. Ultimately he lost the title in that very match though, as he needed to be written off screen in order to recuperate from his injuries. Hennig had already left a lasting mark though. When people talk of the "prestige" of the IC title, it's often in reference to some of the work of Mr. Perfect himself.
