WWE: 10 Superstars You Will Be Surprised Are 10 Year Company Veterans

5. Tony Chimel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjXwWwe0hvc WWE fans will recognise Tony Chimel as one of the main WWE ring announcers, most notably on Smackdown. He is the kind of subtle but important act who vanishes under the radar, so you might be surprised to hear he is not only a ten year veteran ... but a 31 year WWF veteran! That's pretty crazy when you think about it. He is one of the longest tenured WWE employees in history, a man who has seen the rises and falls of Hogan, Hart, Michaels and Austin. You might be asking what has Chimel been up to for three decades given that you barely guessed he had been doing the Smackdown gig for over ten years. Well, the New Jersey native first started in the WWF in 1983 as a road worker to help set the rings up. Around 1991 he started doing some ring announcing at WWF shows but it would be 1999 before he caught his first big break €” the lead ring announcer role for the WWF's major new television show Smackdown. Chimel enjoyed and became synonymous with that role for the best part of a decade, also taking in stints on WWE ECW, Raw and pay per views. He is currently working on WWE live events. You may not have realised it but this guy is more than just a WWE veteran, he is a pillar of the company itself.
